The group began its journey about two and half years ago when a few individuals who shared their passion and love for the beautiful game of FUTBOL and their team, got together with only one thing in mind; to create a supporter group only and exclusively for CHIVAS USA. At that time the name was the SAINT PATRICK'S BATTALION. We knew that CHIVAS USA deserved hardcore fans; and as the group was slowly growing, it was decided to change the name. In the opening season of 2008 the Union Ultras were born. It was still the same group of people, but under a different name and under a new unified banner.

why "union ultras"?

-Union is meant to honor the first name of CHIVAS GUADALAJARA, the most beloved and popular team in Mexico. It also means that although most Union Ultras members have different favorite teams in other leagues such as CHIVAS, AMERICA, ATLAS, SWINDON TOWN FC, BAYERN MUNICH, LIVERPOOL, BARCELONA, RIVER PLATE and other known fubol clubs, we all share the unconditional love and loyalty for our mighty red-and-white here in the MLS. This is the very FOUNDATION AND THE HEART AND SOUL of the union ultras.

-ULTRAS is meant to emphasize the total commitment and passion in pursuit of greatness before, during and after the game and regardless of the outcome.
